The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka is running an upcycling project to reuse massive banners from past exhibitions, rather than discarding them as waste. The seventh upcycling workshop has been set for November 11, 2024.
The material used for this workshop will be banners from last year’s exhibition NAGASAWA ROSETSU: The Legendary Edo Master of Eccentric Painting. Participants will turn massive exhibition banners that would normally be discarded once they were no longer needed after the end of the show into book covers with interwoven patterns. The resulting covers can be used with large-format books, such as exhibition catalogues. The book covers can brighten up your life and also serve as mementos of the exhibition.
