About our Archives

In addition to documents related to the activities of the museum (organizational records: materials created with the museum as the main topic, such as documents about the formation of the collection and the holding of exhibitions, oral histories, and research bulletins), Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka collects various sources of information related to art history, movements, works, and artists (special collections: precious documents such as primary materials for the purpose of research, including documents, manuscripts, sketch books, technical drawings, documentary photographs, and moving images, historical documentation, evaluations, and critiques, as well as rare books and collections of books).
Our main archival collections include materials related to the Gutai Art Association (personal papers of Gutai Art Association members such as Yoshihara Jiro, Murakami Saburo, and Yoshida Toshio, and office records from the association), materials from the Mannensha advertising agency, as well as materials related to PRESARTO, and rare magazines (Dokuritsu Bijutsu Chronicle, Dainihon no Bijutsu, Sanae, etc.).
