The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka has reached one-million-visitor milestone

The total number of visitors to exhibitions at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka reached one million on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Since its opening on February 2, 2022, the museum’s exhibitions have enjoyed great turnouts, including its Opening Exhibition Hello! Super Collection—99 Untold Stories (with about 127,000 visitors), the Inaugural Special Exhibition Amedeo Modigliani (with about 146,000 visitors), Okamoto Taro: A Retrospective (with about 162,000 visitors), and LIGHT—Works from the Tate Collection (with about 124,000 visitors). And, now, thanks to everyone’s support, the museum has reached the milestone of one million visitors, about two years since its opening.

– Museum holds ceremony commemorating one-million-visitor milestone

To celebrate reaching the one-million-visitor milestone, Sugaya Tomio, Director of the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, presented commemorative souvenirs to Ms. Furukawa from Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, and her family. An admirer of Monet’s art, Ms. Furukawa came to the museum with her family today to see the show Claude Monet: Journey to Series Paintings.

– The following commemorative souvenirs were presented at the ceremony.

· A set containing catalogues for the currently running exhibitions Osaka in the Eyes of Women Painters and Claude Monet: Journey to Series Paintings, and original Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka merchandise.

The following exhibitions are currently being held at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka.

4F Galleries: Osaka in the Eyes of Women Painters (December 23, 2023 – February 25, 2024)
5F Galleries: Claude Monet: Journey to Series Paintings (February 10 – May 6, 2024)
2F Multipurpose space: Osaka Directory 6 supported by RICHARD MILLE: KIHARA Yuika (January 27 – February 25, 2024)
