The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka is beginning an upcycling project to reuse massive banners from past exhibitions, rather than discarding them as waste. The first upcycling workshop has been set for May 28, 2023.
In this workshop, banners cut into pieces of three different sizes by workers at the Ityounomori welfare facility will be turned into unique hanging ornaments (one-of-a-kind three-dimensional works) using scissors and quick-drying glue provided by Konishi Co., Ltd. In addition to enabling people to add color to their lives with art that they like, the upcycling workshop is also being conducted out of consideration for the environment and social welfare, in line with the spirit of SDGs that aim to create a sustainable society.
