Announcing a series of talk shows about discovering the collection of Mannensha commercials

The talk show "Nostalgic ads, created in the future—Discovering the collection of Mannensha commercials" will be held as an event related to the Inaugural Exhibition Our City—Portrait of Osaka.

Established in 1890 in Osaka, the Mannensha advertising agency (1890 – 1999) handled a wide range of advertising, expanding from printed media like newspapers and magazines to the airwaves of radio and television. The museum’s collection includes a lot of information resources that make it possible to access aspects of the Japanese advertising industry, including materials related to Mannensha’s works, internal documents, and compilations of corporate history, as well as footage and completed tapes for commercials, and the firm’s library for employees.

This series consisting of two talk shows studies the museum’s collection of TV commercials left behind by Mannensha, with the aim of finding ways of utilizing and enjoying information resources that have yet to be discovered.
